After the contract renewal until 2031, Yann Bisseck shared his thoughts on the current moment and future ambitions. The Inter defender spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport, touching on various topics, from tactical flexibility to the criticism received, and even the German National Team.
On the subject of controversy, Bisseck appears unfazed: “The criticism? I don’t care, if people want to criticize me that’s fine, it’s part of the sport. I always believe in myself. For me, it’s been a beautiful journey, and I’ll keep going like this.”
Regarding his tactical deployment, the 2000-born player declares himself available for any solution: “Which position do I prefer to play? For me, the most important thing is to play, whether as a central defender or a full-back, it doesn’t matter. I just want to help the team, as a central defender, as a full-back, as a striker, it’s not important. In the end, the coach decides, I’m ready to do anything.”
The arrival of Stones inevitably increases the competition in Inter’s defensive department. Bisseck welcomes the challenge with a positive spirit: “That’s right, you can never rest as a footballer. If a player of this level arrives, it’s a good thing for the whole team, even for us defenders. We have to raise the level, that’s how it is.”
On the national team front, the German defender keeps his hopes of a call-up alive: “If you play for Inter, it’s normal to want to play for the National Team. The coach decided to pick someone else, that’s fine by me: I’m ready to fight for my place. I think if I do things well, I have a great chance of being called up.”
Asked about the possibility of finding space, Bisseck replies: “Easier to find space with Klopp? It’s never easy. He’s a great coach, I hope to be in his plans, but it’s up to him. I just hope to be in his plans.”
