Daniel Bertoni, world champion with Argentina in 1978, gave an interview to Gazzetta dello Sport on the eve of the final against Spain. The former footballer analyzed the path of the Albiceleste national team and reserved important words for Lautaro Martinez.
“He always has an important impact. Even when he comes off the bench, he manages to make his presence felt. He is one of those players who can change a match,” said Bertoni speaking about the Inter striker. The former striker highlighted Lautaro’s growth and his importance within the Argentine group.
Regarding Argentina in general, Bertoni expressed great admiration: “Argentina is a team that fights and never gives up. We have seen it throughout the tournament, especially in comebacks. I think Scaloni has created a great chemistry. They are compact, they help each other. One of the coach’s greatest merits has been being able to protect Messi.”
