Behrami criticizes Inter: arrogant in defense, but stronger than Roma

Valon Behrami analyzed Roma–Inter on Dazn microphones, after the match at the Olimpico. The former Swiss midfielder identified which of the two teams came away from the match with greater certainties.

“Inter comes away with the awareness that when they accelerate, they can come back against anyone,” said Behrami. According to him, the Nerazzurri have more certainties than the Giallorossi: “Roma, if they lose intensity, become vulnerable, so Inter comes away with more certainties. They are the team that must dominate the league, Roma, to stay up there, must give 110%. If they drop physically, they start to suffer and become fragile, even if in the first half they are dominant.”

The Swiss then focused on the defensive difficulties of the Nerazzurri. “The goals conceded by Inter? There’s a fine line between carelessness and arrogance,” he explained. “The way they defend the box is like ‘we’re so much stronger, we’ll sort it out.’ The feeling they give is one of arrogance. Not perceiving danger is arrogance, maybe the coach himself wants a bit of lightness in the team, but I see it as arrogance.”

Behrami concluded with a reflection on the delicate balance required of dominant teams: “When you’re dominant you have to be a bit arrogant, but at times it’s excessive.”
