The contract of Piero Ausilio with Inter will expire in eleven months, but at the moment there are no updates regarding its extension. The Nerazzurri sporting director, who has been in office for over fifteen years, is considered one of the main architects of the club’s recent winning cycle, and according to Il Giornale, it seems unlikely that the club will let him go.
In recent months, Ausilio had turned down a huge offer from Al-Hilal, the same club that had tried to sign Simone Inzaghi. Despite the refusal and his strong bond with the club, there are currently no concrete developments regarding the contract renewal.
The director has remained active on the transfer market front: in recent days he traveled to Germany, where the team held its training camp, and then returned to Milan. It was in the Lombard capital that the agent and intermediary involved in the negotiations for Cristian Romero, the Argentine defender from Tottenham who is being closely followed by the Nerazzurri management, were spotted.
Yesterday, Ausilio took part in the Magna Grecia Film Festival in Soverato, taking the stage at an event hosted by journalist Tommaso Labate, which was also attended by former footballer and pundit Massimo Mauro.
