After weeks of intense negotiations, Inter has finally managed to reach an agreement for the transfer of Tomas Palacios. The Argentine center-back, who arrived in Milan last summer, had received several offers from Europe and beyond after learning he was not part of the club’s future plans for the new season.
The 2003-born player had already left Inter on a temporary basis last January to play the second half of the season with Monza. After returning to the Nerazzurri to take part in the Club World Cup, Palacios spent part of his summer holidays with captain Lautaro Martinez before returning to Appiano Gentile and getting back to work with his teammates to prepare for the new season.
After exploring several European options and being close to leaving on multiple occasions, it was Santos who ultimately prevailed. In recent hours, as confirmed by our editorial staff, the secret negotiations with the Brazilians have led to an agreement between the two clubs.
As for the details of the deal, according to Passione Inter, Palacios will immediately move to Santos on a loan deal with an option to buy. Once the final details are ironed out, the defender will have the green light to leave Inter. In the coming hours, a total agreement is expected that will lead to the official farewell and possibly a new signing for the Nerazzurri.
