The championship starts off great for Inter under new coach Cristian Chivu, as his boys win with a resounding 5-0 against Torino on the first day of Serie A. The match was decided by the goals of Thuram (twice), Bastoni, Lautaro, and Bonny.

As usual here on Passione Inter, we try to analyze the most important takeaways from the matches of Chivu‘s team, and here are five things we learned from the nerazzurri victory in Inter-Torino, the season opener at San Siro for this new campaign.

  1. You really couldn’t have asked for a better start than this: Inter was brilliant, aggressive, clinical in front of goal, but above all conceded zero goals to their opponents, which is always a morale booster. A strong start was needed to reignite the engines of enthusiasm and Inter was dominant.
  2. Will we remember this night as the one when we started to fall in love with Petar Sucic? The Croatian midfielder delivered a very important performance with great personality. He is not afraid of the impact with San Siro and as soon as he sees the goal he shoots; that assist for Thuram is the work of someone who breathes football.
  3. And speaking of Thuram, we saw the French number 9 back in his best form. He played as a center forward like in the first part of last season and the two goals were very useful for him to silence the criticism of recent months.
  4. Chivu basically starts again from the starting lineup that Inzaghi also had, but despite this, several things have already changed. There was greater balance on the pitch but also a lot of verticality with central attacks and a high press on the opponents’ ball carriers, which also led to the goals. Now they need to string together results to give more and more confidence to this new era.
  5. After such a start, there is room for joy and satisfaction, but things could get even better with a transfer market that could bring some surprises.
