The speculation that has been circulating for several months now gained further confirmation in recent days. Gigio Donnarumma, goalkeeper of Paris Saint Germain, has reportedly become a target for Inter in 2026, the summer when his contract with the Parisian club expires.
A slight openness from the goalkeeper came for the very first time on Thursday evening, following the defeat of the Italian national team against Germany: A certain set of fans at San Siro would like to see me here…? I’m very pleased, happy about that. These are situations we’ll see later. In the meantime, I’m glad to be back; I really missed Italy and San Siro.
As highlighted this morning by La Gazzetta dello Sport, negotiations for the contract renewal between Donnarumma and PSG have not yet started. This scenario could benefit Inter, who have already confirmed the Sommer-Martinez duo for next season, but in June 2026 could realistically replace the Swiss goalkeeper whose contract expires then with Donnarumma, who would arrive from PSG on a free transfer, formerly of Milan.
