You don’t change a winning formula: Inter have decided to adopt the same goalkeeping management approach next season as they have this year. As highlighted by today’s printed edition of Corriere dello Sport, the recent positive performances have eliminated any doubts.
Inter will keep both Yann Sommer as their starting goalkeeper and Josep Martinez as second goalkeeper for the 2025/2026 season. The Spaniard will certainly receive more playing time than in his first season in Milan, particularly given his excellent responses when called upon during the Swiss player’s injury.
Simone Inzaghi has repeatedly expressed satisfaction with this dual goalkeeper situation, which, besides complementing Sommer’s qualities, has also dramatically aided the growth of the former Genoa player who arrived last summer for €15 million. For this reason, Sommer and Martinez will continue as the Nerazzurri’s gatekeepers for another season.
