Inter is experiencing a moment in its season filled with challenges and key commitments for the outcome of this year, all packed into a few weeks. After winning the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia with Lazio, this Saturday the Nerazzurri team will visit Napoli for a crucial match in the Scudetto race.

The AIA has just announced the assignments for the new round of Serie A, which includes the super match between Napoli and Inter. The referee chosen is Daniele Doveri, one of the most experienced match officials in the championship, but not one who evokes optimistic memories for Nerazzurri team, as the fans had previously greeted his appointment with disdain ahead of his last game.

The 47-year-old whistle-blower will be assisted by Alassio and Peretti, while the fourth official will be Colombo. Marini and Di Bello have been assigned to VAR. The last time that Doveri refereed an Inter game, Inzaghi’s team turned in its worst performance, losing 3-0 in Florence in a rescheduled match after the game was suspended due to Bove’s illness.

In general, the referee from the Rome section does not evoke great successes for Nerazzurri, who have won just 14 games, compared with 10 draws and 9 defeats in the 33 matches he has directed. This will be the fifth time that Doveri officiates a Napoli-Inter match: one victory for Nerazzurri, one for Napoli and two draws keeping the balance.
