In the last summer transfer session, Inter mainly made low-cost deals that could bring fresh forces to Simone Inzaghi’s squad without making very costly investments. The only new arrival for which the Nerazzurri had to invest a significant figure was Josep Martinez.

The Spanish goalkeeper arrived at Nerazzurri from Genoa for 15 million euros including bonuses, but his time on the field has been minimal so far. In fact, he has made only one appearance for Inter, in the Coppa Italia match against Udinese: he has yet to play in Serie A and the Champions League.

According to what was reported today by La Gazzetta dello Sport, there may still be a future for Martinez at Inter. The Spanish goalkeeper is in fact the center of the discussion for next season and his fate is uncertain, but it cannot be excluded that he could become the number one in the future, even if Sommer is still certain to be the starter in 2025/26.
