This rumor has been circulating for quite some time, but now another confirmation has arrived from the Sports Daily. According to this newspaper, Inter really made an attempt in the last January transfer window to give Simone Inzaghi a new attacking player, useful for the second part of the season.
The reasons why this enlistment was not completed are of a numerical nature. There are five attack-oriented players in the black and blue team: the untouchable leaders are Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram who form the starting pair. Behind them are three players who are struggling a lot more.
Mehdi Taremi arrived last summer from Porto for free and has so far been not very convincing. Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa have been with Inter for a longer period of time and their contracts expire in June. They needed to say goodbye in January to bring in a new striker but both refused the possible destinations, preferring to stay in Appiano.
