Expectations for today have been further postponed following the good signs shown during yesterday’s session regarding the choice on Francesco Acerbi. The central defender, who is very close to returning after the muscle injury he suffered on November 23rd during the first minutes of the match against Verona, has shown great progress in recent days.
Today, as reported by Sky Sport, the central defender took part in a small portion of training with his teammates. For this very reason, Simone Inzaghi has decided to continue doubting for a few more hours and communicate a decision on his call-up for the Bayer Leverkusen-Inter match only tomorrow.
The next training session, therefore, will be the decisive moment: if Acerbi’s condition is reassuring, then the defender will travel with his teammates to Leverkusen. Otherwise, his return to the squad will be postponed for the next league match against the former team, Lazio.
