One of the key transfer market themes at Inter this week has to do with goalkeepers. In recent days, the third goalkeeper Raffaele Di Gennaro had to stop due to a finger fracture and will be out for several months.
His place on Simone Inzaghi’s roster will be taken by the young goalkeeper from the Primavera, Alessandro Calligaris who is greatly liked by the Inter coach. On the transfer market, however, there are also interesting updates with the name of Alex Meret continuing to be associated with the Nerazzurri club.
In January, a definite sale may come from one of the currently contracted goalkeepers, namely Ionut Andrei Radu. The Romanian player born in 1997 is still owned by Inter and after recent loans to Cremonese, Auxerre, and Bournemouth, he stayed at Appiano Gentile last summer.
Serie B clubs like Sassuolo and Palermo were after him but the Romanian goalkeeper preferred to stay at Inter. However, according to Marco Barzaghi’s X account, Radu has reportedly changed his mind and is ready to accept the offer from Palermo.
Palermo dreams of returning to the Serie A but is currently struggling in the Serie B, being far from the top two positions and losing in the last round against Carrarese. The Rosanero seem ready to make a move in January and take Radu on a permanent basis, as his contract with Inter expires in June 2025.
What could have pushed the former Genoa goalkeeper to agree to the transfer to Serie B is likely the fact that he was excluded from Inter’s lists and therefore has not accumulated any minutes. This condition, if Radu remains with the Nerazzurri even in January, would continue for the rest of the season until he is released on July 1.
