The comparison between the big teams in Serie A also involves the number nines. Borriello, interviewed by the Gazzetta dello Sport, gave a clear opinion on the situation of the center forwards at Inter, Milan, and Juventus.
“Milan has the one from Portugal, Inter the one from Argentina. And Juventus?” declared the former striker, referring respectively to Ramos and Lautaro Martinez. The reasoning is straightforward: among the best eight strikers in the world, at least one should be wearing the black and white jersey.
For Juve, Borriello has clear ideas about the profile to look for: “I would like a great number nine, even a big name: a signing like Higuain.” In short, a center forward capable of making a difference, not a compromise solution.
On the name of Osimhen, previously linked to Juventus, the former striker did not hold back: “Maybe: he’s strong, he knows Serie A. But beyond Osimhen, a top player is needed.” The message is clear: the Nigerian striker would be welcome, but the black and white club cannot stop at just one option.
