A meeting at the stadium and an assessment destined to spark debate. On YouTube, journalist Sandro Sabatini recounted two episodes from the trip to Monza for the match between the Brianzoli and Cagliari, bringing up both a behind-the-scenes moment with Ausilio and a clear judgment on a player on the field.
“Yesterday in Monza I met Piero Ausilio and greeted him. Then I said to him: ‘At Christmas I’m coming to London, shall we meet?’, but he changed the subject,” reported Sabatini, describing the brief exchange with the now former sporting director of Inter.
On the technical side, the journalist then gave a strong assessment of Varela, observed during the match: “Mark my words: he’s better than Goncalo Ramos. If you put him in Milan, he’ll score the same goals as Ramos.”
Finally, a look at the scudetto race: “Inter is in another league, then there are Roma and Como. Barring Lazio, Juventus, Milan, and Napoli will fight for fourth place,” Sabatini concluded.
