At Pressing there was a heated debate among pundits about the race for the scudetto. At the center of the discussion was Inter‘s candidacy for the title: on one side Tacchinardi and Mauro, on the other Biasin, with clearly opposing views.
The exchange was started by Tacchinardi, who referred back to an assessment previously made by Biasin: “When they asked the big question about who will win the championship, Fabrizio said 30-32%… I said 70 Inter and you, to avoid responsibility, said 5 to this one, 5 to the other. Only Inter can lose it.” A clear stance, which Biasin promptly contested.
The journalist responded with a concrete argument: “If only Inter can lose it, can you explain to me why we are in the fifth consecutive season in which the rivals spend 100-200-300 million, and only Inter can lose it? There must be a problem, right?” Tacchinardi’s reply left no room for doubt: “They’re spending badly, but only Inter can lose it because they’re the strongest team.”
The discussion then broadened. Biasin asked Tacchinardi if he wanted “to say something to all the others,” receiving a curt reply: “We’ve said it all evening.” Mauro closed the circle with a quip directed straight at Biasin: “When we tell you that Inter is the strongest, you don’t like it and you get pissed off.”
