What until a few months ago seemed like an imminent farewell could turn into a new chapter. Alessandro Bastoni and Inter are ready to renegotiate the contract that currently ties the defender to the club until 2028.

According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the left-footed Nerazzurri player has entered the list of players with whom the club intends to start negotiations for an extension. This marks a turning point compared to the transfer scenarios circulating in recent months, when it seemed inevitable that their paths would separate.

The Milanese newspaper reconstructs the change of course: the club’s asking price was at least 60 million euros, a figure that no suitor, not even Barcelona, was willing to approach. From a situation that seemed headed for a breakup, the relationship has been rebuilt and strengthened.

“From certain departure to cornerstone of the future, the step was long but also decisive,” highlights the rosea. Bastoni is now considered a pillar on which to build the technical project for the coming years.
