Parma has beaten the competition for Giovanni Fabbian. The 23-year-old midfielder, who grew up in the Nerazzurri youth sector before moving to Bologna in the deal that brought Marko Arnautovic to Milan, is moving to Emilia.

The agreement with Fiorentina provides for a paid loan of one million euros with an option to buy set at 14 million. The negotiation is now at its final details, with the bureaucratic procedures just completed. The player’s contract will be valid until 2031.

The Gialloblu have beaten several suitors in the race for the midfielder: Sassuolo, Bologna, which would have meant a return, and Getafe. Inter had maintained a two-year buy-back option after the sale to Bologna, a clause that was not exercised.

Fabbian had moved to Fiorentina last summer, but now starts again from Emilia to find more consistency.
