Inter is working on the transfer market with several issues still to be resolved. Piero Ausilio has spoken openly about the interest in Cristian Romero, confirming ongoing contacts: “There is an interest that we are showing to the player and the club.”

The Argentine defender is a specific request from Chivu, who wants to strengthen the squad after the departures of de Vrij and Acerbi or Darmian. The club has started contacts with the player’s entourage, who has an Italian agent, but the deal presents significant financial obstacles. Chelsea has set the price at 50 million euros and does not intend to go below 45 million, while the defender’s salary amounts to 6.5 million. The Nerazzurri management is aware of the financial difficulties, but continues to pursue the central defender at the coach’s request.

On the right flank, the club has not yet identified the right profile after the failed arrivals of Palestra and Khalaili. Ausilio was asked about Perisic, but the director denied any negotiations for the Croatian. The position of Pavard still needs to be evaluated: the Frenchman currently remains in the squad, but the club will consider any offers, even permanent ones, should they arrive.

According to Sky Sport, Romero remains the main name on which Ausilio is focusing his efforts at this stage of the market.
