The contract of Piero Ausilio with Inter expires in eleven months and at the moment there are no concrete updates regarding a renewal. The sporting director turned down an offer from Al-Hilal in recent months, a club coached by Simone Inzaghi, but the issue regarding his future remains open.

According to Il Giornale, Ausilio has been working at the club for over fifteen years and is considered one of the architects of the winning cycle of the last five years. Despite the silence about an extension, a separation seems unlikely. “It’s hard to imagine Inter letting go of the architect of their recent successes,” the newspaper points out.

The club will soon have to address the matter to prevent a central figure in the project from entering the final stretch of his contract without any guarantees. In the meantime, the director continues to work on several fronts for the Nerazzurri’s transfer market.

After following the team’s training camp in Germany, Ausilio returned to Milan, where the agent and intermediary involved in the negotiations for Cristian Romero were spotted. The sporting director then traveled to Soverato to attend the Magna Graecia Film Festival, an event also attended by Massimo Mauro, former footballer and now pundit.

The presence in Milan of people close to the Argentine defender confirms that talks for Romero have entered a concrete phase. Inter considers the Tottenham center-back a priority and Ausilio is working to reach an agreement with all parties involved.
