Inter has obtained Cristian Romero‘s openness to a transfer to the Nerazzurri. Yesterday’s meeting in Milan between Piero Ausilio and Ciro Palermo, the agent of the Argentine defender, provided the answers the club was waiting for: Cuti has given his consent to the deal.
According to Tuttosport, reaching an agreement on salary should not be an obstacle. Inter is ready to offer the player a salary of around 5 million euros until 2031, a figure not far from the 6 million he currently earns in London. With the player’s approval secured, the Nerazzurri management will now approach Tottenham with the aim of lowering the initial valuation.
The Spurs have set an initial asking price of 50 million euros, but Inter intends to propose a package of 35 million plus bonuses up to a total of 40 million. The planned formula is a paid loan with an obligation to buy. The English club, which has decided to sell Romero, is however in a waiting position.
Tottenham is in fact counting on other expressions of interest: the defender is also liked by Barcelona, which must first sell, and by Atletico Madrid. European competition could influence the outcome of the deal in the coming weeks.
