With England’s World Cup campaign over, Inter is preparing to accelerate for Djed Spence, the top target for Chivu’s right flank. A decisive meeting with Tottenham is expected at the start of the week, when the two clubs will sit down at the table to define the details of the deal.

The Nerazzurri club is looking for a successor to Dumfries and, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, it’s time to address the issue once and for all. Everything will depend on Tottenham’s intentions after the winger’s World Cup showcase: if there are no price increases, Inter could make their move. The Spurs have historically been expensive negotiators and new buyers could complicate the deal.

At the moment, around 35 million euros have been allocated for an operation considered highly strategic. It is unlikely that the Nerazzurri directors will go beyond this amount, which represents a middle ground between the 25 million invested for the Arab-Israeli Anan Khalaili before his heart problems and the 50 million for the early summer dream, Marco Palestra, explains the Gazzetta.

The decisive contact will come from tomorrow onwards, in any case at the start of the week, in a climate of caution but without completely losing the original confidence, because the former Genoa player remains the management’s favorite. The other names remain a step behind on the desk: the Brazilian flair of Vanderson from Monaco, the young Dutchman Read from Feyenoord (though accompanied by physical doubts), the eternal Molina from Atletico Madrid, and the more defensive and expensive Doué.
