Inter held their penultimate training session this morning at Appiano Gentile before departing for the summer training camp. Tomorrow morning the Nerazzurri will return to Pinetina for the final session, then in the afternoon they will fly to Germany where they will stay until July 26.

The German training camp represents an opportunity to evaluate the new arrivals, including a familiar face: Aleksander Stankovic. As Barzaghi explained to Sky Sport, the club aims to enhance its youth sector to compensate for the difficulties in competing with the financial resources of the Premier League. In addition to strengthening the infrastructure, the strategy relies on the youngsters raised at Interello.

If the club manages to repeat with Stankovic what was done last season with Francesco Esposito, they would have two homegrown youngsters permanently in the first team. Both grew up in the Nerazzurri youth sector and were both coached by Chivu. Joining them is Federico Dimarco, who completed the entire youth process at Interello.

On one hand, the search for reinforcements on the market continues; on the other, there is an attempt to capitalize on the work done with the youngsters. Esposito’s path, crowned as MVP of last season and called up to the National Team, represents the model. Now it is up to the midfielder re-signed from Brugge, who has shown with words and actions his desire to fulfill the dream of wearing the Nerazzurri shirt.
