On the sidelines of the draws for the league phase of the 2025/26 Champions League yesterday afternoon in Monte Carlo, the vice president of Inter Javier Zanetti commented on the opponents drawn for the Nerazzurri. The former captain, in particular, revealed that he can’t wait to play two matches in particular, both away games for Cristian Chivu‘s team.
These were his words on the official Uefa channels: “A balanced draw for us, with great teams. We like this new format, for sure there are teams with a great tradition in this competition and we hope to do very well. Matches marked on the calendar? There are games like the one in Madrid against Atletico which will be very tough, against Borussia Dortmund in a stadium that is always very intense, but we will prepare as best as possible for all the matches.”
Regarding Inter’s objectives to achieve in this Champions League, Zanetti once again set no limits for a team that in recent years has always stood out with excellent results on the European stage: “The ambition is always to go all the way, we know that repeating ourselves will be difficult, but we will try to have a great season.”
