For some years now, there has been frequent discussion regarding plans by Inter and Milan for the future of Giuseppe Meazza Stadium, including the possible construction of a new facility in the San Siro area as well as the possibility of relocating to other nearby areas surrounding the city of Milan. These options are often discussed with city authorities.
If we cannot build the stadium, Milan will move to San Donato and Inter to Rozzano. The risk of the Rossoneri moving to San Donato is very high, as the club has purchased that area and invested tens of millions of euros, said Giuseppe Sala, Mayor of Milan, quoted today by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
The Milanese Mayor, therefore, has not ruled out the possibility that Milan may decide against developing in the San Siro area if an agreement between the municipality and the two Serie A clubs is not reached. Milan has made a substantial investment in the San Donato area, while according to Sala, the Rozzano option remains viable for Inter, though with less likelihood.
