Marko Arnautovic is undoubtedly experiencing his best period of form since joining Inter. The Austrian striker is consistently finding the net as never before and is establishing himself as the primary backup option behind Thuram and Lautaro Martinez. However, this might not be enough to secure an extension of his stay at the Nerazzurri.

The Austrian player’s contract expires in June, and according to Corriere dello Sport, it appears very unlikely that Inter will decide to renew his contract for another season. Nevertheless, there could be an alternative solution.

In fact, the Roman daily newspaper suggests that Arnautovic could obtain a short-term extension with Inter, allowing him to participate in the Club World Cup and giving Inzaghi the possibility of continuing to count on the Austrian as an attacking option during the tournament in the United States.
