It was a very unlucky evening at San Siro for Piotr Zielinski. The Polish midfielder did not start in the match between Inter and Monza, entering as a substitute in the second half. However, his game lasted less than 3 minutes, as he suffered a serious injury and was forced off the pitch.
Coming on for Mkhitaryan in the 70th minute, Zielinski collapsed on the field due to a muscular issue in his right leg. Further tests will be required to better determine the nature and severity of the injury, but the initial assessment does not appear optimistic.
Zielinski will certainly miss the next two matches before the international break: the second leg of the Champions League Round of 16 against Feyenoord and the key Serie A clash against Atalanta. The hope is that he may be available once again when the Nerazzurri return to action.
