The final of the 2026 World Cup between Spain and Argentina will be refereed by Slovenian referee Slavko Vincic. The match is scheduled for Sunday at 9 PM at the New York New Jersey Stadium.

The announcement came from Pierluigi Collina, head of Fifa referees, who communicated the appointment in front of the entire team of tournament officials. Vincic has already refereed in this edition of the World Cup the matches Brazil-Morocco, Jordan-Algeria, and Mexico-Ecuador.

In 2024, the Slovenian referee officiated the Champions League final between Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid. “It is an incredible honor,” commented Vincic after the appointment.

The final will also feature, with Argentina, the captain of Inter Lautaro Martinez.
