Despite numerous denials from various sources, there are still those who believe that Giovanni Leoni could soon become a new Inter player. Specifically, this morning the Corriere dello Sport detailed the transfer scenario that could see the young defender wear the Nerazzurri shirt this month.
After already collecting 26 million from surplus players (Aleksandar Stankovic, Buchanan, Agoumé, Filip Stankovic, and Vagiannidis), Inter aims to reach 35 million in order to approach Parma with a concrete offer for the 2006-born player. In this regard, the advanced deal with Cagliari for the sale of Sebastiano Esposito could speed up the process.
At the moment, there is still a gap regarding the terms, “since initially the Sardinians had accepted the agreement based on 4 million euros plus 50% on future resale. However, they then reduced the amount to 3 million and, in addition to the resale percentage, requested a 300,000 euro bonus for the next three survivals.” Once this obstacle is overcome, they can consider the second sale.
This leads to the name of Mehdi Taremi, another big name on the way out from Inter. The Iranian seems to have a good market in the Premier League and has already turned down two offers from Brazil. From his departure, the Nerazzurri club aims to collect around 8-10 million euros which, if added to the amount from Esposito, would push the final total well beyond the 35 million target.
