Federico Jaselli Meazza, grandson of the legendary Giuseppe Meazza, expressed his point of view on the future of the Milan stadium. Interviewed by La Stampa, he revealed two wishes related to the project for the new facility that will be built in Milan.

Jaselli Meazza admitted that he had hoped for a renovation of San Siro, while still understanding the economic reasons of the two clubs: “I understand that for the two clubs it would have been more expensive. I respect their choice. They must have done their calculations. I acknowledge that,” he stated.

The grandson of the great striker, however, made a specific request: “I hope that the reference to my grandfather will not be erased. It would be right for a stand in the new stadium to bear his name.” Not only that: Jaselli Meazza proposed a further tribute to Milanese football, suggesting that a section be named after Franco Baresi: “It would be nice to dedicate another section to Franco Baresi.”
