Piotr Zielinski is having his first season with Inter in the best possible way, already establishing himself as one of the protagonists in the Nerazzurri midfield. After years of success and brilliant performances with Napoli, the Polish player moved to Milan with high expectations, and he is already proving his worth. His quality in managing the pace of the game, combined with great tactical versatility, has allowed Simone Inzaghi to rely on him, showing that he can be a crucial weapon in the most challenging matches.
One of the most significant moments of this early season was definitely his debut in the Champions League against Manchester City, one of the best teams in Europe. In the match, which ended 0-0, Inter showed they can compete with the giants of English football and Zielinski was one of the great architects of this result. The Polish midfielder held his own against City’s talents, not only defending with discipline but also actively contributing to the construction of the Nerazzurri game.
During the match, Zielinski stood out for his constant pressing and for his ability to interpret both phases of the game in the best way. Defensively, he effectively covered spaces, while in the offensive phase he showed his usual intelligence in finding the right timing to join in and providing assists to his teammates. His transition play was crucial in allowing Inter to create threats, especially when they managed to start quickly.
The player’s post-match statements emphasized how important this performance was for him and the team. Zielinski in fact stated that Inter “played on par with one of the best teams in the world”, praising the tactical preparation of the coach and the team’s ability to face such a formidable opponent. He also highlighted the depth of the Interista roster, recognizing that the midfield is made up of top-level players, and that each of them is ready to give their all when called upon.
