According to Tuttosport, John Stones risks a longer layoff compared to Hakan Calhanoglu. The English defender still has to undergo instrumental tests after the muscle problem he suffered in his first start with Inter, but there are fears he could miss several matches after the break.
The Turkish midfielder will not be available for the big match at the Olimpico against Roma, but he should still respond to the national team call-up. On Friday, Vincenzo Montella will announce the squad and it seems unlikely he will do without his captain, considering the extended break and the four matches scheduled.
The situation appears more complicated for Stones, who waved the white flag due to a problem with the flexors in his left thigh. In his case, a muscle injury is evident and the instrumental tests will have to certify the extent of the problem, thus determining the recovery time. For the Englishman, a layoff that could extend beyond the international break is looming.
