Solet close to Inter in the summer, Di Marzio reveals the reason for the halt

Oumar Solet came close to transferring to Inter during the last summer transfer window, but the deal did not go through. According to Gianluca Di Marzio, the lack of agreement was not due to the defender’s physical condition, but rather to economic reasons.

“Why didn’t Solet go to Inter in the summer? It was a matter of price, Udinese makes its jewels very expensive and he was worth over 30 million, and Inter then did not invest in that profile for defense. It was a possibility at the start of the market and Inter then let it go,” revealed the journalist to Sky Sport microphones at the end of the summer window.

The defender currently plays for Udinese and missed the recent match at San Siro against Inter due to an injury. The negotiation was considered in the early stages of the market, when the Nerazzurri were looking for reinforcements in the defensive department.

The economic request from the Friulian club, over 30 million euros, made the Inter management give up on the final push. Inter therefore chose not to invest that amount in the French center-back, turning their evaluations to other options.
