Fabrizio Romano provided an update on YouTube regarding the situation of Luis Henrique, who is being closely followed by Roma. The deal with Inter has not yet reached its final stage: the main issue remains the lack of a financial agreement between the Giallorossi club, the player, and his agents, despite weeks of ongoing talks.
Roma has worked both with the agents and directly with the Brazilian, while Inter has sent its own signals to the player. According to Romano, there is still no definitive agreement on the contract and its details, although the Giallorossi club has moved forward in the negotiations and is ready, financially, to close the deal. Next week will be decisive for the talks with Luis Henrique.
The player is not considered completely out of Cristian Chivu‘s project, as he even played against Monza. However, Inter would still be willing to listen to offers and consider his departure should an agreement be reached with another club. For Roma, Luis Henrique is one of the options to complete the wing-back department, after the tracks leading to Fofana and Cacciamani have become more complicated.
Romano also spoke about the future of Pio Esposito, who is coming off an excellent performance against Monza. The renewal of the young striker is now in its final stages: the exchange of documents and approval by the club’s and player’s lawyers, assisted by Mario Giuffredi, is underway. The agreement should include a significant salary adjustment, close to 3 million euros per year, a substantial figure for such a young player but one that Inter considers deserved after what he has shown on the pitch.
In recent months, Esposito had also been linked to several clubs, including Arsenal, but there was never any concrete negotiation. According to Romano, the player’s intention has always been to continue his experience with the Nerazzurri, a choice shared by Inter.
Romano confirmed that Inter is exploring the market in search of a possible new striker. The club has already made some inquiries for various profiles, but without considering financially demanding deals. “The club called a player in recent days, but we won’t mention names now because he is involved in another negotiation,” he revealed. Options such as Marcus Rashford have been ruled out. Inter is looking for a market opportunity: if one arises, the club could act, otherwise it would be fully satisfied with the business already done.
