Roma and Inter dominate Serie A: data on possession and shots

The challenge at the Olimpico between Roma and Inter, scheduled for Saturday at 6 pm, will pit the two teams at the top of the Serie A standings, both with maximum points, against each other. According to the Gazzetta dello Sport, the numbers certify the superiority of the two teams compared to the rest of the league.

The most evident statistic concerns possession management: the Giallorossi and Nerazzurri dominate the ball with percentages of 59.8% and 66% respectively. This control translates into a massive presence in the opponent’s area: Inter regularly brings four or five men into dangerous zones thanks to a dense network of passes that lead to vertical and lateral incursions.

Chivu‘s team has scored 13 goals in four matchdays, the best attack in the tournament, followed by Roma with 12 goals. The capital club leads the ranking for touches in the opponent’s area with 183, compared to the Nerazzurri’s 177, and also leads in open play crosses with 25, ahead of Inter‘s 21.
