The current agreement between Lautaro Martinez and Inter expires in 2029. This means that already at the end of the current season, discussions could begin for what could represent the last major contract of the Nerazzurri captain’s career.

On August 22, Martinez will turn 29. The Argentine striker arrived in Milan in the summer of 2018, the year of the return to the Champions League after a long absence. Since then, the team has never missed qualification for the top European competition, thanks in part to the goals of the “Toro.”

Today the captain earns a salary of 9 million euros per year plus bonuses and is the highest paid in the squad. He chose to turn down offers from Arab clubs and European ones, such as Barcelona during the Messi era in blaugrana. He represents the point of reference around which the entire team revolves.

According to Quotidiano Sportivo, many inside and outside the club have pointed out in recent years how there is an Inter with and without Lautaro. The forecasts still indicate a long journey together before a possible separation.
