Antonio Paganin spoke about the future of Pio Esposito to the microphones of TMW Radio. The young striker continues to stand out in the National Team, but in the Nerazzurri club he has not yet secured a regular spot in the starting eleven.
The former defender explained the reason for the current situation: “As long as he has Lautaro and Thuram ahead of him… But let’s not rush. He has quality. When he had to lead the attack alone he struggled a lot, when he plays with one of those two next to him his task is lightened.”
Paganin then expressed confidence in the young striker’s prospects: “He is an important asset for Inter‘s future but it is difficult to surpass Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram right now. But over time he will definitely become the starter.”
