Speaking to DAZN, president Beppe Marotta commented on the imminent commitment of Inter against Fiorentina, valid for the 24th day of Serie A, also responding to Joao Felix’s statements about an interest from the nerazzurri for him.
Here are his words:
REACTION – Can no more mistakes be made? I don’t know. I say when we play we must do it to win regardless of whether the opponent is Fiorentina or another. There was bitterness in recent days about the way we lost in Florence and I think this becomes an extra stimulus for tonight.
JOAO FELIX – We absolutely did not start any negotiation. We have considered the players who could move, but we decided to stick with our squad and we did not deepen our interest on our part.
PROBLEMS IN ATTACK – Stats at hand, we are a prolific team, best attack of the league. Witnessing a match like Thursday’s is a rarity, where we didn’t score and created very little. The team’s problem is not scoring and there isn’t a big problem. Maybe at some moments we have to stay focused to bring home results of matches that see us at an advantage.
TIREDNESS – There is nothing to rebuke the teams and coach. The mental and physical pressures are quite heavy at this time. It is not an excuse and it happens to other clubs, even Italian ones, engaged in multiple competitions. We need to be better at trying to change this possible defect into a virtue, understanding that we have to get used to a stressful schedule.
