The next two months of the season will be crucial not only for Inter, but also for the future of some of its players. Many will be playing for their future at the Nerazzurri club and will have to prove they are worthy of wearing these colours in the coming seasons.
One example is Kristjan Asllani, whose future hangs in the balance, continuously under scrutiny when selected by Simone Inzaghi. Considering Inter’s packed schedule and injuries, the Albanian midfielder will have several opportunities to truly display his worth.
However, if he fails to convince club officials, he could end up on the transfer list next summer. Should this happen, the club has already identified a replacement: Samuele Ricci, viewed as the ideal heir to Hakan Calhanoglu. Ricci, currently at Torino, tops Inter’s wish list.
The Italian midfielder has many admirers within Serie A, notably an insistent interest from Milan, who are prepared to compete against Inter. On this subject, Tuttosport reported this morning that Ricci leaving Torino in the summer is considered very likely. Nevertheless, high-value offers will be required, as usual, to match his price tag and persuade Urbano Cairo to let him go.
