Giannichedda sees Inter and Roma as favorites for the scudetto

Giuliano Giannichedda analyzed the strengths of the main title contenders in Serie A. The former midfielder, speaking to TMW Radio, gave his opinion on the ambitions of Luciano Spalletti‘s Juventus.

According to Giannichedda, the Bianconeri are currently better equipped to finish in the top four than to win the Scudetto. “Inter and Roma are the best equipped to fight for the Scudetto, Juve is just behind,” he said. The former player then emphasized how having the entire squad available allows the team to do well even in the Europa League, thanks to the ability to rotate players.

Giannichedda praised Spalletti’s qualities as a coach capable of improving players, but identified a limitation in the Bianconeri squad. “The problem with Juve is that they have too many ups and downs, there still isn’t the strong mentality of being Juve and taking control of the match,” he explained. According to the former midfielder, the team still lacks that winning mentality needed to stay ahead.

Although he acknowledges the strength of the starting eleven, even with the current injuries, Giannichedda believes that to consistently compete at the top, Juventus needs something more than what they have shown so far.
