The journalist Gianfranco Teotino, speaking to Sky Sport, analyzed the characteristics of Davide Frattesi after the midfielder scored three goals in the first three matchdays of Serie A. According to Teotino, with these runs into the box, Frattesi is probably the strongest Italian midfielder, so much so that it is no coincidence he was also the top scorer for the National Team at a certain point.
However, the journalist highlighted a tactical issue: Inter‘s style of play does not include this type of run. In fact, the Nerazzurri midfielders score more from outside the box than through deep runs, making Frattesi‘s best qualities less usable in the team’s system of play.
