Esposito and Bonny are preparing to lead Inter‘s attack in Saturday’s home debut against Monza. According to Tuttosport, barring any surprises, it will be the Italian striker and the forward who will start from the first minute.

A particular statistic emerges from Inter’s summer: after a season that ended with 89 total goals and 42 scored by the strikers, the center forwards have not found the net in preseason. The count starts from the 2-1 win against Karlsruher, excluding the very first test with Aasen, where the teams were too unevenly matched.

Neither Esposito nor Bonny have scored, nor has Lautaro, who, however, only played 20 minutes against Betis. Thuram did not take the field. Esposito has accumulated 331 minutes of play, while the French and Ivorian internationals played 20 minutes against Milan, about an hour against Juventus, and 70 minutes against Betis.

A goal from one of the two designated starters, or perhaps both, would immediately silence any potential criticism in the league debut.
