A goal scored by Lautaro, while the score was still 0-1, was disallowed for an earlier shoulder challenge by Lautaro himself—who showed no interest in playing the ball—against Djimsiti. Calling the foul was acceptable, although some doubts remain: it’s essentially a decision made on the pitch, explained Calvarese. However, regarding the three red cards delivered to Ederson, Gasperini, and Bastoni, he found no reason for criticize the referee’s decisions.
