According to Tuttosport, Inter will have to put at least 5 million plus bonuses on the table to renew Federico Dimarco‘s contract. The full-back would thus enter the Olympus of the Nerazzurri players. The dossier is one of the first that Dario Baccin, the new Chief Sport Officer, is called to address after his appointment following the departure of Piero Ausilio.
This will not be the only file on the executive’s desk. There are several Chivu players with whom the renewal issue will have to be addressed. Among them is Carlos Augusto, who was kept in the summer when the Brazilian had received inquiries from Roma, with the promise not only of getting the playing time he expected, but also a salary adjustment for what he has done since arriving in 2024. For him, an extension and a raise are expected, since he currently earns 2.2 million.
Alessandro Bastoni, who was approached in the summer by the big Spanish clubs, has also expressed to the club his desire to stay and renew the agreement expiring in 2028. A more delicate issue concerns Hakan Calhanoglu. For the past two summers, the playmaker has been targeted by top Turkish clubs and his contract expires in 2027. In a recent interview, he explained that he feels good in Milan and that his future does not depend only on him, but on the club: “There has been no contact for the renewal, we will see what happens.”
The midfielder is coming off two excellent seasons but with several muscle problems. In February he will turn 33 and any renewal would be for life. Also because of the Turkish player’s centrality in the game, the club has taken time to decide how to proceed, but it cannot wait too long. Certainly, in the event of an offer, the player will have to accept a likely cut to his 6.5 million salary. While waiting to see if Oaktree and Marotta will choose to include a “Head of football” in the organization chart, Baccin will immediately have several challenges to face: securing the top players and proving he is the right man in the right place.
