Former defender Billy Costacurta analyzed Inter‘s victory over Monza in the Sky Sport studios, focusing in particular on some key moments of the match. Together with Walter Zenga, he discussed the quality of the goals scored by the Nerazzurri, from the first by Çalhanoğlu to the third, scored with a backheel by Pio Esposito.
On the goal by the Turkish midfielder that unlocked the match, Costacurta turned directly to Zenga to understand if the opposing goalkeeper had any responsibility. “I wanted to ask Zenga if the goalkeeper could have done better in that case. The shot was powerful, the shot is wonderful, it’s an incredible goal,” declared the former Rossonero.
Particularly impressed by Esposito‘s goal, Costacurta emphasized the impossibility for the defender to intervene: “On Esposito, I don’t think the defender could have done anything different except go and shake Pio’s hand.” The former defender then added: “Midfield and defense, you’re not bad there either if we think about Inter’s attackers.”
Finally, a comment on the overall level of the squad and the summer transfer market: “So much quality at Inter? Imagine the training sessions… Spence, at a glance, will play often for Inter,” he concluded.
