At the microphones of Sky Sport after the match, Alessandro Costacurta analyzed some key moments of Inter‘s victory on the field of Bologna, focusing on the home team’s goal and Inter’s equalizer.
On the defensive error that led to Bologna’s goal, the former Milan defender pointed out a wrong choice by Bisseck: “He goes for a wide ball that shouldn’t concern him. He thought that Pobega would pass the ball to the outside and he should have convinced him by spreading the play. Instead, he allows him to come towards the center and I think at that point it was quite easy to shoot on goal, then I’ll let others talk about the goal.”
Costacurta then focused on the equalizing goal scored by Thuram, raising a more general reflection on the way of marking in Italy: “The assist was beautiful and everything. I’m surprised because defenders today work differently. There aren’t difficult situations for the way marking is done in Italy.”
According to the former defender, the opposing defender should have intervened earlier on the Inter player: “I think the defender should touch the opposing player first and not let him get the timing, maybe he still heads the ball but if I touch him a bit earlier he can’t jump that high.”
