Leonardo Bovio is preparing to put his Nerazzurri future in black and white. The young defender, born in 2008, will sign his contract renewal with Inter today, crowning a preseason in which he has been a protagonist with convincing performances and surprising maturity for his age.
Chivu‘s trust in him is total. The Romanian coach has appreciated the seriousness and professionalism shown by the boy, so much so that he is ready to confirm him permanently in the squad despite the already well-stocked group of defenders available to the first team.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri’s defensive department can count on six top-level center-backs after the arrival of Stones and the return of Pavard, who is more focused than in the past. Added to these are the all-rounder Akanji, the up-and-coming Bisseck, and the left-footed pair Bastoni and Carlos Augusto, one ahead of the other in the hierarchy.
Considering that the Brazilian can move a few meters up the flank, Bovio remains Chivu‘s favorite, who has chosen to secure him with this renewal. A bet on the future that rewards the 2008-born player’s performance in the preseason, among the brightest notes of this preparation phase.
