Barcelona closely followed Federico Dimarco during the summer and sounded out Inter‘s willingness for a transfer deal. According to Sport, sporting director Deco kept a close eye on the left-sided player and continues to monitor the situation.
The idea of the Blaugrana, again according to Sport, was to propose a swap: Dimarco to Barcelona and Alejandro Balde to Inter, with a financial adjustment in favor of Inter. However, the proposal never gained traction at Viale della Liberazione, where there was no openness to this possibility.
Meanwhile, talks are underway for the extension of Dimarco’s contract with Inter. Both parties want to continue their relationship. Contacts between the player’s entourage and the new sporting director Dario Baccin have already begun.
Inter therefore intends to secure one of its most important wing-backs, definitively distancing itself from transfer rumors and consolidating the technical project with one of the squad’s key players.
