The future of Jhon Lucumí remains uncertain. Today, the €28 million release clause in the Colombian defender’s contract officially expires; he is tied to Bologna until June 2027. The South American center-back has expressed his desire to leave the rossoblù.
In Italy, the 28-year-old is being closely followed by Inter and Juventus, who are aiming to obtain a discount by including technical counterparts in the deal. The Emilia-based club, for its part, is hoping for offers from the Premier League or La Liga, with clubs willing to invest at least 25 million euros.
According to Sportitalia, Bologna’s hopes could find an answer in Saudi Arabia: Al Hilal, coached by Simone Inzaghi, is said to have shown interest in the player. It remains to be seen whether a presumably lucrative financial offer will be enough to convince Lucumí to give up his ambition to compete for top-level titles in Europe.
