With a president like Beppe Marotta who, together with sporting director Piero Ausilio, personally handles all transfer market sessions, Inter always pays great attention to free agent moves. The Nerazzurri’s number one has always accustomed everyone to having a particular nose for important signings among the out-of-contract players.
A player whose contract will expire in June 2026 (and who could therefore be signed for free as early as January) is Dayot Upamecano. The French defender’s contract with Bayern Munich is expiring and he is also liked by Inter, as confirmed by transfer market expert journalist Fabrizio Romano with these words on his YouTube channel:
“It will be tough for Italian clubs regarding Upamecano. Inter would like him on a free transfer in 2026. Bayern continues to push for a renewal, but if he doesn’t sign, big clubs from Spain, France, and England could come in. The Nerazzurri like him, but it’s too early to say they are in the race; a renewal is still possible.”
